While short of breath, practically hypoxic, and in the clouds, we drove to the top of Pikes Peak, CO this morning. Wow, beautiful. The view was obscured by clouds that literally swirled around us but we did get a few glimpses of just how high we were. The temp at the top was approximately 53 deg F.It freaked even me out driving on those narrow dirt, no gaurd-rail roads. But well worth it. We can't believe they have races up this mountain. We saw some wildlife; a marrmot and large crow looking birds. I think it would be cool to see one of the black bears up here!
